As NYTimes and every other news outlet in the world reports:
President Obama said that on Sunday, a small team of U.S. operatives launched a “targeted assault’’ on a compound in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad where months of intelligence work had established that Mr. Bin Laden was living. Mr. Bin Laden was killed after a firefight, and the troops took custody of his body.
This is abbottabad as it gets for Sarah, too. Especially because, as President Obama reminded us tonight, Islam is not our enemy.
That crackpot ex-general Sarah’s sharing the stage with later today at Colorado Christian University says just the opposite.
The space between Sarah’s rock and hard place just got a whole lot smaller. She lamely tweeted last night:
Thank you, American men and women in uniform. You are America’s finest and we are all so proud. Thank you for fighting against terrorism.
It was with President Obama as commander-in-chief that American forces achieved what they’d never been able to achieve under George W. Bush. Obama had the tact and good grace not to continually emphasize how much effort was still going into the hunt for bin Laden, but as last night’s announcement demonstrated, that didn’t mean it wasn’t happening.
The wise man or woman doesn’t brag about what he or she intends to accomplish. Instead, after the fact, he or she credits others for the success.
Make no mistake: this was America’s most smashing success of the 21st century. That it puts egg on Sarah’s face is the least of it.
But the egg is there. U.S. soldiers killed America’s most dangerous enemy. And Barack Obama was commander-in-chief when it happened.
Sarah can tweet all the thanks she wants to American men and women in uniform.
But her failure to credit their commander-in-chief shows her up as the shallow, petty self-promoter she is.

I’m waiting for Sarah to congratulate her “combat veteran” son Track for his contributions to Bin Laden’s death.
The only way Track would of killed Bin Laden is if Bin Laden rode the school bus with the brake lines that Sarah’s proud non combat son Track cut.
This makes the President’s “sleep loss” comment to Trump yesterday all the more poignant. I bet that man did not sleep well and yet he pulled off his banter at the dinner without flaw.
More importantly, this development also explains the proposed appointment of Leon Panetta from CIA to Secretary of defense, and Gen Petraeus to CIA. It will be interesting to see what the GOP will try to obstruct these appointments.

I emailed Joe Miller regarding his disrespectful twittering saying that even my 8 yr old grandson says ‘President’ Obama…but then his parents teach him respect…something the Joe & $arah never learned or earned.
Then I emailed a donation to Planned Parenthood in the name of Sarah Palin telling them that her nasty putdown of them last night made me do it….plus a commenter at Immoral Minority who recommended more of us donate to PP everytime $arah puts them down……..it really does lower the anger bar & satisfies a need.
I’ve been banned from all Sarah’s sites or quickly deleted, so dropped the idea of writing her, but also because as you say she is a ‘shallow, petty self-promoter’ and not worth my time.

They ran on the economy in 2010. The new GOP Governors have already run roughshod over their states and are facing recalls, The new House leadership has created how many jobs again? What, they are too busy trying to convince us that the spending is so out of control they have to CUT jobs to make the rich people richer so sometime in the future they will be more certain of their wealth and then, really, they will start creating jobs. Because, you know, it’s the little people who create jobs and we have to keep cutting those taxes. Revenue is not the problem, no sirree, it’s spending for the poor. If they would just work harder…blah blah blah. Hope Boehner enjoys his last year as Speaker. I did the happy dance last night. Finally, this subhuman, heartless terrorist is gone from our world. Sent to the great beyond where justice may be bit different then here. I have no idea if there is a heaven or hell as we’ve been taught – I have a hard time with the hell thing if this is supposed to be a “loving father” kind of being. But I do know this – whatever the great beyond holds, bin Laden will find out and karma will not be so kind to him in his next life. And back to the present – ugh. Palin is still tweeting her vindictive, “I can’t get over the fact that I lost” comments. This whole episode with bin Laden has really served up a harsh lesson to the repugs. Their relentless bullshit on the birth certificate looks even more foolish now. I don’t care what anyone says – you cannot deny that our President is a brilliant man and just turned the tide in a remarkable way and his whole dinner speech set them up for the kill. I love him! He deserves this moment and his place in history will probably be much kinder then the basards that have relentlessly attacked him and tried to scare the shine off of his armor. He’s not perfect – none of them are. But I just can’t stop smiling. I mean, he gave it back to them with such class and such an amazing accomplishment. Well done, Mr President. And our country can now find comfort in the fact that bin Laden is gone and our security is apparently in good hands under Obama’s watch.

Quitter Palin will run no matter what. It is in her DNA. She can’t help herself. In her own mind she thinks she is presidential material while the sane people in the country see her as delusional. Just look at her record. She used her friends to move up the ladder all the way to the governor’s office on just a wink and a wave. Any true feminist wouldn’t use their beauty like the quitter does. No they have brains. Then there is putting her family out there as props. She is no more a good example of a mother when she said she believes in spending quantity time with her kids. The quantity time sure has allowed she children to get in trouble with the law on many occasions. On the other hand if she could have spent quality time they may have made out better. She is fake through and through but she will run. She has to be the center of attention and she doesn’t care who she steps on to get there. I hope she runs. She will only help the democrats look like the sane group.
Let’s not forget what courage it took for Obama to give the go ahead for a kill in a country where we didn’t exactly have permission. He is a great president who thinks things through.

Bush had no desire to take out bin Laden. Why would he destroy the cash cow/bogey-man? How can you go around starting wars in the Middle East when you have destroyed your enemy? You can’t! He would NEVER have done it in a million years.

I am willing to bet Obama didn’t think about the Trump at all. Remember this was a serious situation and if the outcome would have been a failed operation people would have been on Obama’s back. No honestly I think Obama was worried about one thing and that was the mission. Leave the side show to Drudge and his buddies. They will come up with lies while Obama as usual stays above it all and acts the way a president should. That helps him while the rest look like crybabies running home to momma because the smart kid figured out how to take the marbles without being a bully.
The President also made an excellent point calling the stupid attention grabbing acts by Trump as a waste of precious time and silly compared to the real work we need to do. In light of what just happened. He burned his arrogant butt.
